Tacky “Oirish” Junk Taken too far?

Irish Americans are proud of their Irish roots. That is not a bad thing at all. That St Patrick's Day parades in the US are bigger and more important than any events here in Ireland also isn't a bad thing.

What is, however, a bad thing is some of the ridiculous tat being sold to the Irish American public that taps into their cultural affinity with "the old sod".

Today's example takes ridiculous into the realms of completely tasteless.

Oh Ryan's Irish potatoes - inspired by the Irish famine apparently

Now admittedly the product description might be more of an issue than the product itself, but either way selling sweets "in remembrance of the great potato famine" is ridiculous and quite tasteless.
