Relaunching and Revamping IWF

December 13, 2016 by Michele Neylon Leave a Comment

For the past year or so the forum over at IrishWebmasterForum.com has been offline. There's a multitude of reasons why it ended being taken offline, but basically I didn't have enough time or energy to move it to a better platform and actively maintain it. I probably still don't have a lot of free time for these little "side projects", but it's one of those sites that people … [Read more...] about Relaunching and Revamping IWF

Fixing the OpenGraph Image Displayed in XenForo

December 11, 2016 by Michele Neylon 2 Comments

I've been moving some of my vBulletin installs over to XenForo. There's a multitude of reasons why I've decided to make the switch, but suffice to say that XenForo offers a lot of very nice features "out of the box", while vBulletin simply doesn't. Following on from my issues with Zend loader.. So one of my sites, which runs VBulletin 4.22, stopped working after the upgrade at the weekend. I assumed I'd done something silly and the Apache error logs weren't being particularly helpful: [Sat Aug 23 18:01:56.661206 2014] [authz_core:error] [pid 6523] [client xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:49939] AH01630: client denied by server … [Read more...] about Vbulletin 4.22 – Another PHP 5.5 “Gotcha”

Using Vbulletin’s Impex Import System With Newer Versions of MySQL

September 26, 2013 by Michele Neylon 4 Comments

If you are moving a forum to Vbulletin or, like me, need to move an existing Vbulletin install around, then you might end up using Vbulletin's "impex". Impex is an import system that allows you to import users, posts etc., from a very large number of bulletin board and forum software into Vbulletin. To save your sanity - remove the CMS / Forum software importers that you … [Read more...] about Using Vbulletin’s Impex Import System With Newer Versions of MySQL
