I’ve been “benched” for the last few weeks, which means I’ve been able to cook at home. It’s been wonderfully calming. Sure, spending a Sunday evening preparing lunch for the following couple of days might not be “exciting”, but eating fresh home cooked food makes me feel better. And I don’t mean just mentally – physically I feel better.
My travel schedule last year was pretty intense at times and I am yet to find a good way to eat consistently “well” and get enough sleep and do all the other things that I probably should. Being home the last few weeks means I’m eating properly 3 times a day (most of the time), getting a reasonable amount of sleep (probably not enough) and I’ve reduced my alcohol intake.
So these days I’m having quite a bit of lentil soup (by choice, as I really like lentils) and plenty of fresh vegetables.
In a couple of weeks the chaos will begin again, as I’ll be heading off to Morrocco for the ICANN meeting and then on to Austin, Texas for SXSW.
