As I wrote recently I’m “on a mission”. I want to get to as many concerts and other “fun” events as I can.

So when I stumbled across “Féile Classical” I simply had to get a ticket, though Ticketmaster tried their best to make that impossible!

Anyway ..

For somebody of my age this concert is pretty much perfect. It brings together a bunch of the Irish music bands I grew up listening to so there’s An Emotional Fish, Hothouse Flowers, Something Happens, The Four of Us and others.

I first saw The Hothouse Flowers live in the RDS in 1989. That’s a long time ago!

I have a vague recollection of An Emotional Fish gig in Cork Opera House which continued with drinks into the early hours sometime in 1991. It was a long time ago. It was late. Drinks had been had. Details are hazy.

Anyway this should be fun.

They’re all back on stage and they’ll have the Irish Chamber Orchestra with them.
