I don’t often get invited to official openings and launch events. So getting invited to the opening of the new cinema in Carlow was nice. Combine that with the screening of Jurassic World and it was impossible to pass it up.
So last night a few of us headed over to the Omniplex in Carlow, which is in the centre of the town.
They gave us VIP tickets, which made us all feel kind of special:
Before we got to see the movie, which we all really enjoyed, there were a couple of short speeches and the Killeshin Pipe Band:
I have no idea why they had a pipe band, because the space in front of the screen where they had to perform was tiny.
And after the screening we all had a glass of wine and headed home.
How two cinemas will be able to survive in a town the size of Carlow remains to be seen..
