Amazon Cashing In On Green

August 13, 2008 by Michele Neylon 4 Comments

It looks like Amazon is jumping on the Green bandwagon as well…

I don’t blame them. If I could push the “green” aspects of our new hosting solution more and it led to sales I would without hesitation.

Considering where Ireland’s electricity comes from, you might have a hard time…

Well, we do have green network cables used to hook up some of the servers on the new platform if that helps?

Niall – we’re using virtualisation extensively, so that also helps 🙂
I guess I find the entire “green” thing a bit amusing as almost every single ad in Time over the last few months has been about green solutions

Hey Michele – I put up a polldaddy survey today over on my blog (see above) about whether it is worthwhile in IT to go green?
Specifically do people in Ireland consider Carbon Neutrality as a factor when selecting a software vendor? (I’m working in the software industry hence the focus).
It’s a very short survey and I’ll have results and some thoughts on the issue up at the start of September; your feedback would be nice…
To quote a famous frog: It’s not easy being green… 🙂
