Concerts and music festivals get announced all the time. With festivals it’s fairly normal to announce the dates and even start selling tickets without announcing who will be playing!
So while I knew for sure about some concerts that I was planning on for 2025, others have been added to my “roster” as they were announced. And yes, I am already buying tickets for concerts in 2026.
There are, of course, some acts that I’d really like to get to see, but so far I haven’t had any luck getting tickets. This year that list includes Lady Gaga, whose concerts seemed to sell out instantly. There’s a few other acts that currently aren’t touring, though I’d be very surprised if they didn’t announce tours in the not too distant future (The Cure being the obvious example!)
So what have I added to the lineup for 2025?
- Justin Timberlake. He’s playing Seville as part of Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest. I was at a concert there last year and the venue is great. Slap bang in the heart of the city.
- Fontaines DC. For a variety of reasons I’ve ended up going to see them in Milan, or more specifically, just outside Milan.
- Forever Now – this is an odd one. It’s a one day music event in Milton Keynes and features a load of groups that were big in the 80s and early 90s. Nostalgia central. As of right now I’m planning on going but the logistics are a little messy.
- Residente. Puerto Rican rapper who has won oodles of awards. He’s playing a few dates in Europe this summer so I picked up a ticket for his concert in Barcelona. He’s also playing Seville, but the dates didn’t work for me
- Fontaines DC & Kneecap. Belfast. This should be fun. I just hope the weather is okay!
And for 2026 …
So far I’ve got a weekend of music and comedy planned for Madrid, with Celtas Cortos and Louis CK.
