February 19, 2017 by Michele Neylon Leave a Comment

If you're old enough you'll remember the "joys" of getting online on dialup. I know I remember it all too well. Back then I was using Windows mostly and had to share the line with the phone, so if anyone wanted to make a phone call then my 'net connection would be disconnected. While clearing out junk today I came across this odd bit of computing history - a USB 56k dialup … [Read more...] about A bit of Computing History – USB 56k Modem

Solar Panels, Dishwashers and Washing Machines

February 18, 2017 by Michele Neylon 2 Comments

After 13 years (give or take) I've finally said goodbye to the house that I used to called home. This afternoon I removed the last of my possessions and handed back the keys. While I'd moved into the new house over a week ago, it was only today that I finally got the last of my stuff out of the old house. Will I miss the old house? Probably in some ways as I was used to its … [Read more...] about Handing Back the Keys to the old House and Moving on

Coat Hooks, Herb Storage and Electric Screwdrivers

February 5, 2017 by Michele Neylon 2 Comments

When you're surrounded by box upon box and bag upon bag of your possessions it's easy to feel a little overwhelmed. Or at least that's what I've been saying to myself over the last couple of days. While it would be wonderful to wave a magic wand and have everything tidy itself away in my new home, the reality is not as exciting and considerably slower. I have been trimming … [Read more...] about Coat Hooks, Herb Storage and Electric Screwdrivers
