Just reading the CRO’s latest newsletter when the first item struck me:

We have seen an increase in the number of documents being sent by “free post”. However, the CRO does not operate a “free post”
licence.
Always attach the correct postage to mail for the CRO. Sending mail by “free post” to the CRO will result in it not being delivered, or delivered late. This is of particular relevance to those who deliver annual returns to the CRO by post as a late filing penalty could be incurred.
So basically people are presuming that the CRO have a freepost license and just sending documents of varying importance in based on this presumption?
I ran a search for “cro freepost”, and here was the first result. Or am I missing the point?

That form is one that you send to the Revenue Commissioners not the CRO. The form advises the RC’s that you have registered a company so that they can put you on their systems for Corp. Tax, PAYE (and poss. VAT). It is confusing however as they have “Form 11 CRO” at the top.
It seems you can do a FREEPOST to the revenue commissioners but not the CRO.
‘Course, if you forget to put a stamp on a letter it’ll still get delivered. Don’t tell anyone, I’m sure An Post won’t want that made public!
