Alternatives To Skytel?

May 25, 2007 by Michele Neylon 5 Comments

We’ve been using Skytel for the last couple of years to handle all our voice traffic including our 1850 number.
Unfortunately the level of service has been declining and is no longer reliable (Our 1850 number has been offline for the last two days!!)
Can anyone suggest any alternatives?

Why not go to Eircom directly? Cost?
We use Opera Telecom – they’re coustomer service is ok. But never ever had lines go down and we have about 300 different 18xx numbers at work. But there is loads of companies out there offering this service. Should be hard to find some one with a good SLA

We’re considering going direct with Eircom or using one of the larger alternatives.
I can’t afford to have a phone system that does not work.
SLAs are meaningless. A good track record is what counts

We use a VOIP provider here in the hub called http://Glantel.com. They are pretty good.

We’ve since signed up with Imagine. Hopefully they’ll be able to keep our phones running 🙂
