Murphy’s Law and Flights

March 23, 2007 by Michele Neylon 12 Comments

I’m sitting in Dublin airport waiting to board a flight to Madrid before heading on to Lisbon.
I seem to be cursed!
Since I really did not relish the idea of getting caught on the M50 (aka the longest carpark in Ireland) I drove up last night and stayed near the airport. I don’t enjoy rushing, so I left the hotel with plenty of time to get to the airport to checkin etc.
Of course I could have taken my time as the flight is, of course, delayed!
If I had been running late, of course, it would have been leaving on time
Ah well – at least I can’t miss it!

Wouldn’t bank on it. Wait until your flight is called for temporary gate A763 (located somewhere near Drogheda).

And Michele did miss his flight. He was so busy blogging, he never heard his flight being called.

That is odd. My missus is out in Madrid at the moment. Her flight (Iberia) was delayed by over two and a half hours on Tuesday. And her work colleagues that travelled on Monday also had delays. What is going on in Madrid?

Oh! That happened me on Monday. 1135hrs flight to Madrid delayed by over three hours. Dublin Airport is the worst airport in the world to be delayed in.

Laura, I would say Warsaw is the worst in the world! 🙂

The delay wasn’t that bad in the end 🙂
It could have been a lot worse!

Awahhh! Look at the pretty Spanish flag next to Michele’s name.
Eh, so did you, eh…arrive? 🙂
    Enjoy your time

Well at least you had a SHORT flight 🙂

I only arrived in Lisbon about an hour ago 🙂
I had a few hours in between flights in Madrid – which explains the Spanish flag

And now there’s a pretty flag from Portugal 🙂

Is this a new phenomenon in Blogging? Collecting flags in comments, like stickers on the back of the car?
    I’d call that Flogging 🙂

Last week in Madrid we were waiting 40 mins as the flight arriving from Ireland was late due to the weather over there. Then we boarded the flight, and waited a further 1hr 45 mins to depart as we had missed our flight plan due to the plan arriving late. Eventually made it home to pissing rain and Ireland beating Italy 🙂
