Irish Mac Users Can’t Have Fun?

August 29, 2007 by Michele Neylon 6 Comments

Why on earth doesn’t the Apple shop for Ireland list any of the EA games titles?

If I go to the Irish site I can buy plenty of “productivity” software, but the choice of games is pathetic, whereas my American friends are all probably off playing BF 2142 already.

Is there any reasonable explanation for this or is Apple’s marketing team simply dumb?

    Keep looking at the laptop and telling yourself it’s shiny.

    It’s not just Ireland, it’s not on the UK Store either.
    My 17″ MacBook Pro is being ordered tomorrow. So ordering 2142 after that…
    Maybe frag you later?

    Well I play World of Warcraft on my new 24″ iMac, and that doesn’t leave time for anything else.

    @Niall – I’m going to do that anyway 🙂
    @MJ – I hadn’t checked the UK store. I would have thought they’d make them available everywhere at once.
    @IrishStu – I’ve never really got into that. I like killing people with guns 🙂

    Possibly some sort of logistical/distribution issue; they certainly do sell some games on the Irish site.
    I think there are a couple of shops in Dublin that sell mac games.
    I’m not a gamer myself, and in any case my Mac has Intel integrated graphics, so I don’t really know too much about this stuff.

    Robert
    Do you know which shops specifically?
