Google Gadgets and Gimmicks

You can now add Google gadgets and gimmicks to your website or blog.
There’s a fairly comprehensive list available here
Some of them might be of interest to niche sites or blogs. As so many web services have APIs these days building a “widget” should be possible for many of them, though whether the Google Gadget concept brings anything new is another matter.
I can see it being of benefit to service providers / creators more than consumers.
A couple of ones that caught my eye:
Feedburner stats
Dictionary
Bushisms

  1. I was interested in the gadgets when I first looked at them but I thought they looked as if they were designed by a 3 year old (with the Google border).
Hopefully I’ll spend sometime testing them out on some sites, I know the maps will come in useful.
