Confusing “Your” and “You’re” on Signs

Spotted outside a shop in Midleton, Co. Cork:

And it’s not the only “bad” sign you’ll come across in the town.

The local supermarket is proud of its “customer’s car park”, which is suggests that they might not be in business for much longer or that nobody drives ..

Getting it right shouldn’t be hard:

“your” = possessive

“you’re” = contraction of “you are”

  1. The now-closed petrol station outside Charleville had something similar.

    I dare you to have another sticker made along the lines of:

    I may be the presumed criminal but at least I know the difference between ‘Your’ and ‘You’re’
