I work from home from some of the time and have had a basic “home office” setup for years.
When I used to use Windows and / or Linux I was able to print to the laser printer I had. Unfortunately it’s a rather old model which isn’t supported by any recent version of OSX and you simply cannot get the software for it for Intel based Macs.
I mentioned this in passing to a friend the other evening and they started telling me about their wireless printer – a Samsung CLX-3185. It’s wireless, so any device on your network can print to it – which, to me, is an attractive idea. But unfortunately Samsung have discontinued that particular product.
So which wifi / wireless enabled printers are people using?
Requirements:
- wireless / wifi enabled
- compatible with OSX
- Black and white printing preferably
Any recommendations welcome 🙂

Hi Michele,
I’m using this one at home: Samsung SL-M2070W ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-M2070W-Multifunction-Wireless-Printer/dp/B00ETKT2J2/ ), it’s multifunction and prints b&w, they also have a smaller version without scanner, it’s quiet, uses wifi and NFC, and works great on my mac devices as well as on android smartphones/tablets.
Kind regards

Thanks! That looks like it’ll do what I need. Have you used it with Yosemite?

Yes, it works great, you even don’t need the software if you don’t want to use it, Yosemite automatically detects the printer if you’ve configured it previously to be paired with your wifi network (when installing Yosemite I did it formatting my mac computers and they detected the printer).

Marc
