Darren posted a link to a useful list of revenue sharing forums (fora?).
The idea is very simple. As a member you can add your adsense ID to your profile. Once you have a made a certain number of posts you can then start earning a percentage of the adsense revenue on threads where you are active.
I’ve been toying with the idea of doing this on a couple of forums that I manage. Would people be more likely to contribute if they were getting a share of the revenues?
Sounds like a good idea. I read an article about a tech forum recently that started something similar.

I think they found it difficult to tell if it brought in that much extra contributions, as their growth rate didnt change, but they also found that people didnt try to skew the posts towards topics that would bring in more adsense dollars which is something you might be afraid of.
It seems like another angle to monetising forums following the success of Google answers.
I presume you’re referring to Ryan of Digital Point?
thats right Michele.
Which forums do you run, out of interest?
Paul
Several 🙂
The main ones would be:
http://forum.search.ie
and http://www.irishisptest.com/forum
The company forum doesn’t really count, as it will never carry advertising
