Over the last couple of years I’ve been able to get to see some wonderful performances by some great musicians and performers. Next year I’m hoping to see several acts that I haven’t seen before, as well as seeing new performances from a few that I’ve seen already.
Bruce Springsteen had to cancel a couple of dates of his European tour this summer and the one I had tickets for was impacted. That’s been punted to summer 2025, so I’ve a valid excuse to go to Milan a couple of times next year!
So what do I have planned so far?
- Christy Moore, Dublin, Ireland – I’ve seen him play a couple of times over the years. He’s fantastic live.
- The World of Hans Zimmer the theatre experience, Oberhausen, Germany – Hans Zimmer’s music played by people who work with him in a show he’s curated. This version is meant to be “smaller”, though I’ve no idea what that means in reality.
- Andrea Morricone, Turin, Italy. Ennio Morricone’s music provided the soundtrack to so many famous films for so many years. His son, Andrea, is also a composer and conductor and will be performing music by his father as well as his own works.
- London Soundtrack Festival, London, England. I’ve managed to get tickets for a couple of events during this. It should be good!
- Ed Sheeran, Madrid, Spain. I’ve seen Ed Sheeran live a few times now and he’s a great showman. Also a valid excuse to go to Madrid for a couple of days!
- Dua Lipa, Dublin, Ireland. I like her music and love her energy.
- Bruce Springsteen, Milan, Italy. I’ve always liked Bruce’s music, but never got to see him live. I’d hoped to fix that earlier this year, but sadly fate worked against me.
- John Bishop, Dublin, Ireland. I really like stand up and John Bishop is hilarious. For his 25 year anniversary the ticket prices were reduced, so for once I wasn’t paying a fortune!
- Hans Zimmer Live, Dublin, Ireland. Yes I’ve seen Hans Zimmer live multiple times already over the past few years. But I love it!
I’ll be keeping an eye out for other concerts and if I can peg on a concert while I’m visiting somewhere “exotic” then I’ll try to. No, I won’t be going to Oasis. Yes I’d love to see Coldplay live, but I wasn’t able to get tickets.
I’d love to see The Cure live and am kicking myself that I didn’t get tickets for their last tour.
