The US elections are almost upon us. Unfortunately I won’t be able to vote, as I am not a US citizen. Unfortunately I am a citizen of this planet, so I will be affected by the US electorate’s choice.
At least you would think that the it was the US electorate’s choice ….
I remember the last elections all too well and all the controversy surrounding them. What I wasn’t aware of were some of the finer details and they have made me sick to the bone.
Michael Moore has not only written widely about all this, but he’s also made a couple of films:
Fahrenheit 9/11
which addresses the last presidential elections, 9/11 and the ensuing “war on terror”.
His earlier film, Bowling for Columbine addresses America’s fascination with guns… amongst other things…
I’m currently reading Stupid White Men: …and Other Sorry Excuses for the State of the Nation and have found it very hard to put down. His reflections on US politics and society are definitely and “eye opener”

Well, if I was in the US I’d put Jean Chretian on my voting card, nothing like saying you’d rather vote for a Canadian, ney French Canadian to really shake shit up. 😉
