Dell has launched its range of Ubuntu powered desktops. At present the product range is only available for purchase in the US.

The main thing to note is that when you choose open source you don’t get a Windows® operating system. If you’re here by mistake and you are looking for a Dell PC with Windows…..

Dell As of now it is available in the US market, but not in Ireland. We don’t have details of the release date for Ireland

US is the biggest market for Dell, hence the “test bed” approach. If the sales figures are right, we’ll get it elsewhere – and I assume it’s not going to be long, probably later this year. Of course, the more noise users make about it, the better.
