Confusing “Your” and “You’re” on Signs

December 23, 2013 by Michele Neylon 3 Comments

Spotted outside a shop in Midleton, Co. Cork: And it's not the only "bad" sign you'll come across in the town. The local supermarket is proud of its "customer's car park", which is suggests that they might not be in business for much longer or that nobody drives .. Getting it right shouldn't be hard: "your" = possessive "you're" = contraction of "you … [Read more...] about Confusing “Your” and “You’re” on Signs

Geographically the island is part of the British Isles, though I … [Read more...] about Cork Isn’t Near Dublin and Ireland Isn’t British

August 23, 2011 by Michele Neylon 6 Comments

TheJournal.ie is reporting a story that on the one hand doesn't surprise me, but on the other hand is kind of shocking. RyanAir is to stop all its flights between Dublin and Cork, which effectively means that there will be no flights between Cork and Dublin. (Unless another airline steps in) RyanAir claim that people are opting to drive (are they?) instead of … [Read more...] about Ryanair Cuts Cork Off From Dublin
