Today’s Sunday Business Post dedicates a couple of pages to “Internet Shopping”.
Although you won’t learn anything groundbreaking from the articles, they do give nice coverage to some of the bigger Irish “etailers” (I’m not sure if that word is accepted by the OED yet 🙂 )
Some of the articles’ thrust is, of course, focussed on saving money online and makes references to a number of our clients, which I am always happy to see.
Some of the success stories mentioned include:
– ebay.ie
– 123.ie – they recently moved all their sites to our facility in Dublin
– Pigsback
– Getlenses
– Ryanair
– CDWOW
One of the more salient points in the article was that of the legislation governing distance selling. As one of the commentators pointed out, e-commerce legislation gives consumers a no quibble 30 day moneyback guarantee. When you compare this to the much weaker rights for offline consumers you can see yet another reason for buying online.
PS: The articles were penned by Weckler, but I can’t find any reason to berate him this week.. Well, I could, but he actually did a good job, so I won’t.
