Yesterday afternoon after being nearly blown away by the winds on Garryvoe beach, we stopped by at the Kilkenny shop in Shanagarry. If you like Irish design, then you’d probably enjoy the shop. Though I do find that a lot of the products are way too expensive for my taste. They’re nice to look at and if there’s a sale or discount you can get some nice bargains. Yesterday, for example, there were some nice discounts on Belleek cutlery. They’ve got a nice selection of candles, prints, crystal and art. And the setting itself is really nice.
After perusing the shop the café provided a quiet haven for a coffee and bit of indulgence. It being Easter Sunday we shared some of the chocolate stout cake, which was good, though a bit dry (the cream definitely helped)
The view from the café is wonderful, as they it’s looking out over the fields towards the sea. Even when the weather is miserable it still looks wonderful and I regret not taking a photo of the view (though I suspect it wouldn’t have come out too well due to all the glass)
The café / restaurant also serves lunch, though we got there quite late in the day.
And yes, on the way out I did succumb to the special offer on cutlery and got some for my mother!
