It’s 2019 and both Ireland and other countries have evolved quite a bit. However we still have a way to go. There are still gaps between genders. Men and women are not always treated equally, even if we all pay lip service to the idea of equality.

Focus Features’ recent release “On the Basis of Sex” charts the early career of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and is one of those films that everyone should see. Also encourage your children to see it. Why? Because it highlights some uncomfortable realities. And we need to be both aware of them and to do whatever we can to fight them and evolve.
