Grr! Google Swallows Another Nice Service – Jaiku Sold!

As soon as I get comfortable using a nice service it’s swallowed by Google!

According to the Jaiku blog they’ve been acquired by Google

    Reminds me of that episode of The Simpsons where Homer gets “bought out” by Bill Gates. Isn’t that the business plan for a lot of tech start-ups? Get enough seed capital to operate, get noticed by one of the giants and chill out on a beach in Costa Rica after selling up? Just imagine, Michele, some white knight coming in to buy up your business, you could retire to Costa del Cobh!

    It certainly seems that the business model of a lot of companies is to get noticed, get big, and get bought.
    The big heads are all in such a tizzy over trying to gain superiority over each other that they’re all keeping an eagle eye lookout for The Next Big Thing.
