These days everyone is looking for a discount or some other way to get a bargain. I know I check for coupons and discount codes when I’m shopping online and I suspect a lot of other people do too.
In the Irish market, however, there aren’t that many discount code sites.
We run one specifically for our domain and hosting discounts, but, apart from the forum on boards.ie and one or two small operations, there aren’t that many sites serving the Irish market.
Discountcodes.ie, however, has recently changed hands and is now being run by a German company that specialises in the space.
The new site seems to be growing, though at the moment the bulk of the discount codes seem to be for UK online retailers.
Hopefully this will change, though they don’t seem to have a simple way for punters to share codes, which is a pity.
Browsing the site at the moment they have a number of computer discounts from the likes of PC World, groceries from Tesco and a fair few others.
Of course part of the issue with discount code sites in Ireland might simply be the size of the market and the costs. Or maybe I’m just a little cynical?
