20 years ago I’d never have imagined a reality in which a music star could decide the outcome of an election. Any election. But definitely not the US presidential election.
However Taylor Swift’s influence on voters is apparently a big deal. So much so that one of France’s biggest daily newspapers, Libé, dedicated today’s front page to the story:
They’ve also focussed the paper’s main editorial and a further 5 page spread on the music phenomenon that is Taylor Swift, but with the focus on her connections to politics.
A revelation for me is that she was previously idolised by the US far-right!
