Check your whois

Do you actually own your domain name?

You may think that you do, but in many cases you actually don’t, or may have issues in proving that you do.
One of the most common issues that we come across when helping clients move their domains from other providers to ourselves is with the contact details. So many times the email address used to register the domain is either defunct, inaccessible or incorrect.
In other instances the domain may have been registered with the hosting or design company’s details. In most cases getting the details updated should be merely a formality, however it is an important one. Many hosting providers allow you to update the details via their control panel, while those who don’t provide such a facility should be able to do it for you if you ask them to.
The easiest way to check your domain’s details is to use a service like whois.sc. To see the information related to a domain simply use a URL such as:
http://www.whois.sc/yourdomain.tld
so, for this domain the URL would be:
http://www.whois.sc/mneylon.com
