Over the last few months blogs and blogging have received a lot of media attention.
In some cases the media provides useful incites via the “new” medium, such as the Guardian’s news blogs.
In some circles you will find advocates of blogging for all businesses.
What I was surprised to find was a company that specialised in providing blogs for business on an open source platform.
In reality I’m not that surprised, as it is an inevitable progression.
So what exactly do “The Blog Studio” offer:
The Blog Studio is a service company. We enable and assist companies to engage in meaningful conversations with their customers to enhance bottom line profitability. We do this by removing barriers, strengthening your brand, and promoting your message.
Their site seems to be quite new, but they’ve already got a couple of sites in their portfolio and the overall impression is quite slick.
However, this is not just a design service. They are also offering coaching, where they can help you outline your “blogging goals” and implement an “action plan”
If nothing else it is interesting
What is also interesting from a more technical point of view is their choice of software platform to achieve these goals.
Unlike so many blogs they are not opting for a “mainstream” blogging platform, but have chosen instead Text Pattern.
From what I’ve seen of this platform it seems to be a hybrid between CMS and blogging application.
(more on that once I’ve had the time to experiment)
Tom Raftery says
That’s more or less what I am specialising in now as well Michele – I am meeting with clients, developing blog strategy documents for them, implementing the strategy strategy documents and providing ongoing monitoring of the blog for them.
Possibly I need to reflect this on my site!
