A couple of years ago, after moving into my house, I started growing herbs in my garden. They’ve worked out pretty well, though they didn’t really appreciate the hot weather last summer.
However the berries that I planted back then weren’t exactly a “roaring success”. It’s taken two years for any of the bushes to bear any fruit and what fruit there has been so far wouldn’t go very far.
See that photo above? That is the entire crop of gooseberries that I got! The other bushes have got a few bits of fruit on them as well, though there isn’t enough between the lot of them to make even one decent berry crumble. However I suspect that next year the crop should be a lot better and then I might be able to do something meaningful with them.
I guess we’ll see!
