I picked up a copy of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood a few days ago as it was discounted. While the range of games available on the Mac isn’t exactly stellar, I’m not much of a “gamer” under normal circumstances and haven’t even turned on my Xbox 360 in a few months..
With Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, however, I’ve ended up totally hooked. Again this afternoon I spent several hours leaping from buildings and killing Borgia guards as if it was the most natural thing in the world – and I won’t even mention last night..
The graphics are absolutely stunning and while you can’t enter that many buildings on the huge map, you can climb over pretty much everything you can see – if you can find a foothold of course. The main character you control would have been a good addition to the cast of Banlieue 13 – his free running (parkour) skills are impressive!
The trailer below gives some idea of the storyline and graphics:

I’m currently stuck in Rome trying to get get into a tower, though I keep falling off the wall 🙁
And yes, I will keep trying, as I want to know what will happen next!
Ah … say hello to my christmas … Steampowered.com were offering it for 9.99 episode 2 .. and I played it … and erm … val was away and I finished it and I ended up having to buy episode one though I got that through another crowd getgamesgo.com who are part of eurogamer I think. Amazing the price difference somtimes if you shop around.
I preordered brotherhood as well and that reminds me I need to get rid of a copy as I ended up thinking it wasn’t bought and grabbed a download version possibly from steam 🙂
I need to get back into it though I’ve not really been playing games the last few months.
James – were you playing it on the Mac or the PC?
Michele
PC I don’t game on my work machine which is my Mac … apart from playing with Crayon Physics Deluxe from the http://www.humblebundle.com/ which is rather cool 🙂 … Graphics Tablet attached to Mac so … it’s uber cool 🙂
I might add … not gaming on my Mac is a good thing … I have to use the computer of ze missus so that means I can’t game away during office hours 😛
It’s a fantastic game. You should get AS2 while your at it because some parts of AS:B won’t make as much sense without it. If you’re looking to play AS1 and AS2, I have them both on the Xbox, and your free to borrow them.
Oh, and the reason why you can’t scale that tower is likely because you haven’t got the reinforced metal cestus that allows you to perform the leap-climb manoeuvre. If so, you’ll just have to play through other missions until it comes available from Leonardo in Sequence 4.
If it’s a Borgia tower you’re having problems with, just move around the outside: there’s always a way up, and each time you run into problems, you’ll kick yourself for not spotting it sooner when you *do* spot the route.
Keith
I made it up the tower in the end – it was the route I’d been taking, though I’d fallen every other time 🙂

Keith
Thanks – I might take you up on that at some point, though I’ll also be seeing if I can get them on Mac
