I was a teenager in the 1980s.
I remember watching a lot of silly films in the 1980s. Some starred Michael J Fox and are still quite funny even now. Others weren’t that funny then and simply aged badly.
I don’t hate the 1980s – it actually wasn’t such a bad decade really. And it was probably a lot more tasteful than the 1970s ..
But why on earth do so many people have fixations with 1980s culture and technology?
The Commodore 64 was a fantastic invention for its period. But nearly 30 years later it’s just a curiousity.
Do I need a C64 in 2011?
Some people seem to think that you do, so they’re relaunching the C64 and Amiga!
And talking about Michael J Fox makes me think of Back to the Future ..
And what does Back to the Future make you think of?
Why the De Lorean of course!
While you can still pick up original De Lorean cars both in Europe and the US, there’s now a US based company making them again.
Starting at $57500 the new DeLorean car has all the latest toys, while still retaining the 1980s feel
I think I’ll pass for the moment!

I think it’s like that because it was totaly different then right, people had to think more to invent anything and when they were doing anything they were trying as hard it was possible, right now when we have internet knowledge is so close of us that we don’t see it…

A lot of fads from the 1980’s are coming back.
1) Blue and “salmon” shirts with white collars
2) Recessions
3) Synth Pop
4) Mass emigration of the youth
5) The IRA
Give it a few years, then we’ll be back in the 90’s again – another dark era of mankind
