Uncommon Adsense Published

January 5, 2007 by Michele Neylon 2 Comments

Eric Giguere’s latest book, Uncommon Adsense (PDF) is now available!
I’ve been reading Eric’s blog, Make Easy Money with Google and AdSense, for about a year now. If you’re an experienced Adsense publisher you may think that you already know every trick in the book, but Eric constantly surprises me with little titbits. His first book Make Easy Money with Google: Using the Adsense Advertising Program (Visual Quickstart Guides) is a good read, but is aimed at the beginner. His new book, however, skips all the introductory junk and gets “down and dirty” with optimising your adsense for maximum profit.
One of the issues that keeps on being raised on blogs and fora is the plethora of blog related keywords on blogs that aren’t about blogging. While this may not apply to many non-blog content driven sites most of the advice people have given to date actually ignores the Google patents. Eric rips them apart to explain how the patents (ie. what Google have told us about adsense and adwords) work so that you can take advantage of them.
I’ve only got about half way through the book, but I’ve already got plenty of food for thought 🙂
Highly recommended!

So what would be the number 1 way to avoid blog ads from adsense. I have manually removed any ‘blogy’ meta data from my WP theme header. This seemed to work somewhat anyway.

Cormac – Sorry I didn’t reply to this sooner 🙂
Avoiding a lot of “bloggy” words seems to help as does the section targetting.
