I’ve reached the conclusion that WordPress hates me.
The templates went nuts again this evening for no apparent reason!
I’m seriously considering dumping WordPress in favour of Movable Type.. though I’ve no idea how I’m going to handle permalinks…
*sigh*
EDIT: Turning gzip compression back on fixed the issue.. But why????
Ken McGuire says
Is it PHP5 giving the issues or WordPress?

I honestly don’t know. Once I turned gzip compression back on it all started working again, which doesn’t make any sense to me at all.
I know that the gzip compression should help with the overall size and speed of pages, but why on earth would it cause the entire thing to stop working?

I know you are upset right now so I’ll pretend you didn’t say that.

Danger – I really like Movable Type. The old version was a dog, but the latest one is pretty nifty 🙂

I was reluctant to move to PHP5 because of issues like this with WordPress alright. I’d never consider going to Movable Type though. Guy I know had tremendous trouble with his permalinks.

Anthony – sounds like your friend had a bit of a nightmare!
Anthony says
He did alright. No blog platform is flawless but I do value WordPress and continue to support it because of the willingness within the community to address issues that arise.
