What’s going to happen with Irish blog aggregators and services?
IrishBlogs.info, which I run, is busy enough, but is a resource hog.
IrishBlogs.ie has been revamped, but any comments I’ve seen about it have been far from complimentary.
PlanetoftheBlogs became planet.journals.ie and seems to have died off
Is there a future for these sites / services or is everyone simply using technorati et al?

IrishBlogs.info is a great site. It baffles me sometimes in its logic but it is a very regular port of call for me.
IrishBlogs.ie used to be my fist port of call [after my reader]. I have dumped it. It is now worse than useless [it doesn’t even give the full title of most posts FFS!!]
I confess I haven’t checked planet.journals in a while, but I notice it seems to be very sporadic in its pickup. I posted twice yesterday and twice today, but it only picked up one of yesterday’s posts??
And what ever happened to kick.ie? That used to be very popular but very few seem to be using it now?
P.S. I like the MT. When are you going to tart it up a bit?? 😉

Kick never seems to have taken off. It has / had lots of potential, but I don’t think enough high profile people were using it actively.
As for tarting the site up … it’s on the “todo” list 🙂

I’m not sure why your posts aren’t appearing Grandad – what’s your blog called? Planet Journals gets new posts every 4 hours, but that still shouldn’t explain your problem… Are you using the ping service?
BTW I like IrishBlogs.info, but it still needs more submissions
Grandad says
Just added Planet Journals ping service [my omission. Sorry]
The one and only Head Rambles @ http://www.headrambles.com
Thanks John.

I think part of the problem is that there’s really very little decent aggregation software…
