If you’re in a particular age group then you probably remember Geocities. You might even have had an account there.. I know I did..
When Yahoo! took Geocities offline a lot of people felt that a bit of “history” was being destroyed in the process. I just felt nostalgic.
Anyway it transpires that a few people wanted to preserve it and are now making it available as a very large download (via BitTorrent).

Ah I remember it well.
Last year I dusted off a 1999 copy of ‘Rough Guide to the Internet’ and there were a few old familiar faces – Geocities, Dogpile and a few old ISPs I’d completely forgotten about.
