Irish Hosting Market – The Move Away From ISPs Continues

According to the latest report from WhoisIreland.com the shift away from the traditional ISPs to HSPs (hosting service providers) continued throughout 2005.

This trend will probably continue, as the traditional ISPs, such as Eircom and Esat, cannot offer the level of automation and service to remain in the lower end of the market.
In terms of market value the statistics do not tell you that much, but it is obvious that some companies have made significant investment in their infrastructure, while others “piggyback” off cheaper foreign providers.
