Impersonal Banking

I like my bank (AIB), but I sometimes wonder what they are at when it comes to their usage of technology.
Their online personal banking works really well and is easy to use, but the emails they send out are so impersonal it’s not even amusing:

“Dear Customer,
Thank you for your application to have access to additional account information through AIB Internet Banking.”

They know what my name is, so why don’t they use it?
On a positive note I’ll probably get the relevant forms tomorrow morning 🙂
