When the weather is nice this country really can look absolutely glorious. In this kind of weather the moniker “sunny south east” is fairly accurate!
So far this weekend has been absolutely lovely and the countryside has been looking picture postcard perfect!
Athy is picturesque no matter what the weather, but when it’s a sunny day the castle and the river look so enticing
It’s the kind of weather where you simply have to spend time outside enjoying it, so this morning I fired up the barbecue and cooked my breakfast outdoors. With a view like for breakfast do you blame me?
My barbecue shelter and greenhouse – yes the wild grass is rather wild, but am hoping to get the entire garden rotavated soon
Toast done on the barbecue is so damn good – I picked up some sourdough bread yesterday at The Old Yard. A very tasty breakfast – not complicated or elaborate. Just a few good quality ingredients prepared on my kamado style ceramic barbecue. Sure, it takes longer than doing it on the cooker, but I wasn’t in any hurry this morning, so it suited me just fine.
I’ve still got some planting that I need to do – the two large raised beds are completely empty at the moment. But the greenhouse is pretty much “done”. Obviously as things grow they’ll fill out the space but I’m trying to restrain myself from the temptation to plant too much stuff in there – it’s easy to forget that today’s small tomato plant will be way bigger in a few weeks’ time.
