You really think it was coverage of the dail that pushed it that high??? I would have gone for all the Smart Telecom customers bitching about the lack of service and trying out VOIP services since they couldn’t call out…
Elly
Most of the Smart customers are domestic, so unless they were all on holidays then they should have been in work 🙂
The peak coincides with the height of the Dail session this afternoon, which is probably more than a mere coincidence

Fair enough Ted!! However there has to be more than a few customers like me out there who work from home occasionally and who lost their phone service but not DSL today…. We’re in the strange scenario of having line rental and calls with Smart, but our DSL is still with Eircom…
I feel sorry for Smart… state incumbents are a total pain in the arse, and the whole Eircom fiasco shouldn’t be as it is.
Makes you wonder what the continuous begrudgery against Denis O’Brien is all about – he started a mission, and couldn’t finish it because a couple of people got upset he made a few squid.
This situation (Smart getting into trouble) is going to be a situation we’re going to see again and again with some of the smaller players, and it won’t end until Eircom get kicked in the arse and get moving on their typically Irish (shite) infrastructure.
