News broke this evening that Sinéad O’Connor has died at the age of 56. Apart from the fact that she was only a few years older than me, she was an important part of the soundtrack of my late teens and early 20’s. Her first album “The Lion and the Cobra” was released in 1987 when I was 14.
Troy was the first single from the album to be released. It’s a powerful piece based on the poem by WB Yeats.
