Blogging from Nokia 9300i

I recently got a Nokia 9300i, so I ended up posting to this blog from it yesterday.
It was not a pleasant experience!
To overcome the basic display issues with the public area of my blog I installed Alex King’s WordPress Mobile Edition, which strips your blog down to the bare minimum and makes it perfectly usable from a PDA / mobile device.
But what about actually posting to the blog?
While I could try posting via email, that would be a bit limited, as I wouldn’t be able to choose the categories I wanted to post to.
So are there are any Symbian compatible blogging clients or is there a plugin to simplify the WordPress UI?

  1. I’ve done more than 1500 blog posts from Nokia 9210i and Nokia 9500 keypads, using the mail-to-blog option. It’s easier to knock the posts into categories through the browser when back at a desk or with a laptop. It’s also much cheaper than using a web session, unless you’re on the Blackberry or all-you-can-eat data option.

  2. That’s a point, yes. (though you could create a low privilege account for it). A similar thing completely client-side javascript could no doubt be crafted, but that probably wouldn’t work on a smartphone.

  3. Hey Berni quite an impressive figures (1500) I haven’t blogged but I used it for quite a multiple purposes. Besides browsing and sycning it with my PC, this phone works quite well with syncML. I use a free online phone backup service http://www.zyb.com. It uploaded 1,237 contacts and calendars entries with in 5 minutes. I guess the combination of 9300i and zyb is killer.
